Important information from Marlborough Basketball

It is with much disappointment that I have to report that the standards of behaviour at the Stadium exhibited by some basketball players and spectators have recently been below what we would have expected.   


Stadium and MBA staff have altered us to a number of incidents that have occurred that are disappointing to say the least.  These include: 

1. Intentional blocking of drains in sinks in the toilet areas – leading to significant flooding in the toilet and foyer area. 
   
2. Bouncing of balls and the playing of games in the foyer area.  This is annoying for stadium staff and poses a danger to other users and stadium fixtures – such as tv screens, lights, etc. MBA and Stadium staff will be confiscating balls from players if this continues. 
   
3. Food being bought in from other establishments (Dominos) and consumed in Subway’s leased space.  
   
4. Failure to comply with the face mask requirements in accordance with Government requirements and Stadium Policy.  (Anyone 12 years and over must wear a mask in the foyer and mezzanine area).  You may be asked to leave the stadium if you do not wear a mask. 
   
5. Players and spectators entering the court area to watch others,  wait for their game or hang out with mates on other teams.  We ask that only the players, coach and manager of teams playing in each round be courtside.  There is limited space courtside and it is a safety concern. The mezzanine area has plenty of seating available to spectate.
   
6. General lack of respect for Stadium, Subway and MBA staff and other members of the public. 
   

We understand that there are many players coming and going (and some delays on our part that we are endeavoring to address) however please make an effort to work with us and stadium staff so that we can all have an enjoyable basketball season.
