Ripper Draw, Wednesday 30th March.

Hi all,

Please see attached this Wednesday’s draw (9th March) for Mako Rippa & Mako Rip Rugby @ Lansdowne Park.
(Please let me know if you spot any mistakes e.g. missing teams or incorrect grades).

- Updated ground map also attached.
After some feedback, we have now made the year 3/4 grade games half-field games (fields 2A, 3A, 4A).

Last week we had several teams leave the field with some of our RIPPA tags. Please bring them back if this was you

Please note:

The year 1/2 grade allows parents on the field to help guide the kids and make sure everyone gets a turn running etc.
Refs will be supplied, but please be prepared to referee incase they don’t turn up for your game.
Under the red-light setting of the current CPF, spectators who aren’t directly involved with teams (coaching/managing) are not encouraged to be at the venue. Although if you do choose to come and watch, please ensure you are well distanced from the active playing area - please inform parents of this.
Under the red-light setting of the current CPF, we ask that teams and players make their best effort to arrive on time and leave the venue as soon as possible after the conclusion of their game.
A reminder that all schools are to bring their own belts! The TRU will supply balls and tags.

Additional notes:

Grades are spread over two time slots. Please make sure you check the draw each time to confirm when each team is playing.
Yr 7/8 grade - Some teams have notably more boys than girls, if necessary can adjust the ‘3 girls on field at a time rule’ to have a feasible game - Please ensure opposing team is aware so they can adjust to make it fair for both sides involved.
Yr 3/4 grade - Due to odd numbers, one team will play a second game each week - this is marked in RED on the draw.

As we didn't have enough players to make our own RVS teams, these are the teams that our students will be playing in.
Y3/4 students will be playing in the year 3/4 Springlands Tornados team on Wednesday.
Year 5-6 students will be playing for the Fairhall Flyers.

Currently we only have 3 teams entered in the Y1/2 grade - therefore we will have a game of 3 halves @ 3:45pm.

COST:
The entry fee is $40 per team to cover payments for the referees.
We will invoice your school when all teams are confirmed.

TEAM ENTRY & GRADES:

Y1/2 RIPPA (Parents are required to be on the field to assist/coach players)
Y3/4 RIPPA
Y5/6 RIPPA
Y7/8 RIPPA (This grade will be split into Boys, Girls and Mixed)

PLAYER REGISTRATIONS:
ALL players must register online via their school’s sporty link attached below to play in this module. www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/139759 .
Please also complete the RVS Term 1 sign up form.

MY VACCINE PASS (MVPs):
*PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

5-11 year olds (likely grades Y1-Y6) are not required to show or have a My Vaccine Pass to play Mako Rippa.
Those 12 years and older (likely grade Y7-8) are required to provide a My Vaccine Pass to play Mako Rippa.

For those students likely in intermediate that are 11 years of age and turning 12 this year, NZR has provided a 3-MONTH vaccination window that these players can attain a My Vaccine Pass in.
Therefore these players transitioning from 11-12 are not required to provide a My Vaccine Pass until no later than 3 months after their 12th birthday.

ALL volunteers / teachers / parents that are attending Mako Rippa to assist/coach teams are also required to provide a My Vaccine Pass.
