Junior hockey is on track to start Monday 15th June, ending week of 14th Sept, so we hope you are all excited and ready to go! Below is a quick update of what is happening before then
We are very thankful for the number change to 100 from Friday midday however we will still need to follow H&S guidelines so we will keep you informed via Facebook, website and at the turf. We will be relying on everyone helping out by doing their part to keep Covid away so we can all enjoy the whole season. We are finally getting some confirmation about winter sport resuming. Once dates are confirmed Mrs Wilson will send out team information, along with start dates. This week letters are going home regarding hockey. Most teams are now full, but we are looking for more Year 3-4 hockey players. There are also still spaces in our Year 1-2 and Year 3-4 netball teams.
There will be strict requirements around contact tracing during the sports season. The first step to meeting this requirement is to register your child on the Sporty website. Thank you to those parents who have already completed this essential first step. If you have signed your child up with RVS to play a winter sport, please ensure you complete the registration as soon as possible. The links to register are below and also on the Sports Academy page. Starting the Game
We are excited to announce that the junior games will begin again on Monday 15th June, and run until the end of Term 3. Please see attached for information and team entry sheets. If you have not done so please send these in, or send in a new one if you have updated numbers/teams. Parents need to register their kids online which they can do by clicking on this link and then click on your school or club http://www.hockeymarlborough.org.nz/registrations-1/club-school-list Contact Tracing. We have set up a contactless tracing which will require all players, officials and supports/parents to sign in upon entry to the turf. It is a very simple app, which hopefully you will be using more than once around the Marlborough region. What you will need to do is
We will be conducting a major clean prior to opening the gates to the public. We will also be cleaning throughout the evening when games are being played or training is being undertaken. The changing rooms and showers will be closed, for the short term at least, and the dugs out will have limited space. There will be hand sanitiser around the turf which you are to use on your arrival and the bathrooms will have soap and paper towels. Attached are the Hockey New Zealand guidelines we will be following as we return to the game. Mass Gatherings We will be working hard to ensure that the number of players and supporters stay low. We will therefore be asking for only 1 caregiver/supporter per family to be down at the turf, please do not bring the whole family along. Depending on our numbers of players/teams will depend on our draws and how we play. We will aiming to keep games as much the same as possible, however this will depend on team entries. More information will come as we progress along but for now we are working on getting back up and running. If you have any questions please do not hesitate in contacting me.
