Please talk to Mrs Wilson if you would like to trial for the Marlborough Primary Schools Seddon Shield Under 52kg rugby team. The team will be selected by trial on Wednesday 9 May 2018 1 pm at Landsdowne Park. Players will also be observed in the first rounds of club competition.
The Seddon Shield Tournament takes place during the second week of the July holiday period and is strictly for players who are under 52kgs at the time of the tournament. Mostly children nominated to trial will be either Year 7 or Year 8. Riana Burger, Netball Development Officer, will be at RVS on 20th March, after lunch. She will be running some skills sessions with the students who have either signed up to play netball, or students who would like to experience playing netball before they decide whether or not they wish to play this year. All the students who work with Riana in the afternoon will need sneakers and P.E. uniform.
A few people have asked about game times for hockey. There is not one specific time, as several games are played each evening, and it also depends on the number of teams in each grade.
As a rough indication - Monday and Tuesday nights (year 3/4 and year 5/6) - 3:45 pm. 4:35 pm , 5:25 pm and 6:15 pm. Wednesday (year 7/8) - 4 pm, 5 pm and 6 pm. RVS games could be any of these times. The draws are collated and sent out as far in advance as possible, to help with forward planning. |
