Dear RVS Community
It is wonderful to be back. I have enjoyed seeing and greeting the students and teachers over the last few days, what a fine bunch. Great to see new faces too, welcome to RVS. I am pleased to report that my 10 week sabbatical has been an amazing experience. It has provided me with a wonderful chance to rest and to study. During my time I also visited several schools in Auckland and Christchurch and felt endorsed regarding our relationship focussed teaching and learning. I wish to thank Francesca and the team for their excellent continuation of RVS over the winter months. We truly have an excellent team of committed people here at RVS. There were many key events and all ran very smoothly including the Production & Cross Country, to name a couple. My congratulations and thanks to the Foundation team involved in the organisation of what sounded like a great disco last week. Francesca has announced to the BOT her imminent resignation from the role of Deputy Principal of RVS, effective from the end of T4 this year. I am very pleased to say though, that she will continue to teach full time at RVS. The school and community are in great debt to Francesca for her commitment to the role and all those associated with the school these last 6 years. Again, I am pleased that her skill in teaching will continue here at RVS. The RVS BOT will be advertising a leadership position in the near future. Here is a note from Francesca: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear RVS Family, The last 3 months have been an exciting time for me as Acting Principal at Richmond View School. I have enjoyed this time. However, I am more than happy to hand the reins over to Mr. Pauling, as Principal. I know that he enjoyed his time away praying, resting and studying. This short note is also to share with my intention of stepping down as Depute Principal/SENCO at the end of Term 4, this year. There are a few personal reasons for this. I will be staying on as a full time Class Teacher in 2020, but will be handing on the Deputes role and responsibilities to someone else whom God has already chosen, who is waiting in the wings. This decision has been on my mind for a while, and I have spent much time praying about it and I feel that God is telling me that now the time is right. I have enjoyed being part of the RVS Leadership team and can only endorse my unfailing support for Dave, Leah and Julian as the school moves forward under God’s direction. Please continue to pray for our School. Thank you for all your support. God bless. Francesca Crossley -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am excited as I look forward to 2020 and beyond. It is great to see work happening around the property including a new school entrance drop off area, underground works to support the new classrooms, the marking out of the new court and classrooms and installation of new power and fibre. I will send out an update regarding property before the end of the term. I also look forward to seeing International Schooling, the new uniform and the Honours Programme implemented shortly, all huge projects in their own right. The RVS Middle School (Y7 to Y10) will be complete as far as classes go next year and will look a little different from a delivery point of view also. For those with students in Year 8, I welcome you to meet with me personally to talk through how Y9 and beyond will look at RVS for your children. I wish for you to have any questions regarding the RVS Middle and High School answered as personally and easily as possible. Maria, Hayley (from the office) or I will contact you directly to set up a meeting time. As the school slowly grows and changes inevitably happen, I encourage you to take time to introduce yourselves to other parents in the car park & in the classroom. I see it as incredibly important to remain known to one another, to show care and consideration to each others needs. The Word says that others will know we are His followers by our love for one another. Education with Christ at the centre is a real privilege for us all. I thank all of those who are either behind the scenes, or in full view making RVS an important part of our children and young adults lives and futures. Good to be back & God bless. Nga mihi nui, Dave Pauling Principal Comments are closed.
