You will find an image below that outlines the classes we will have next year and the teachers who will be in them. You will receive notification about your child's class placement with their report next week.
I am thankful to God for His provision of great people who will continue taking the school forward. At present, none of the classes planned for 2020 are over 26 in number, even with a growing roll. This is due to a significant investment from the BOT to stay ahead with staffing. Please feel free to speak with me regarding any questions you have. God Bless, Dave Pauling Principal You're Invited! This year Richmond View School is commencing our new prize-giving format. Our rapidly increasing student numbers has meant that we needed to choose between either hosting a separate Junior and Senior prize-giving night, or split prize-giving into two different assemblies. We want to continue meeting together as a whole school whanau to celebrate student achievement and so we have chosen to split our usual assembly into two parts.
Please note that student ATTENDANCE AT BOTH ASSEMBLIES is COMPULSORY for students. Whole School AwardsChanges have been made to the end of year awards, with the addition of several new awards to reflect the changing nature of our school. From this page simply click on the image to read the award description. Please note that images of the new awards will be made available shortly. Staffing and Classes for 2020CLASSES FOR 2020 Due to large student numbers currently in Years 4 and Years 5, we have added a fully staffed half-class that will be placed in the library for one year while new classrooms are being built. The library will continue to function in a limited capacity next year. The new classrooms will be known as Library A (current library) and Library B (current Year 9 classroom) and will house Years 5 and 6 students. The image above shows the layout for classrooms for 2020. In 2021, we expect Years 7 and 8 will move into C-Block (shown in red above) while Years 9-11 will move into new classrooms. Years 5 and 6 will move back into B-Block (shown in green above) which means that Years 0-8 will be settled in their permanent spaces from 2021 onwards. I am excited about the way the school will look next year with a separate Middle and Jnr school. Much work will go in during the summer break to have classes looking sharp. NEW STAFF We are excited to announce that we will have four new staff members joining our team in 2020. The Board are funding extra teachers to keep class numbers low. We thank them so much for their commitment to our school.
We also have a fourth new staff member for the middle school whom we will be announcing shortly. This person comes with excellent skills and experience, and will be a wonderful asset to our school community. We are also farewelling our vibrant Mrs Johnson who is taking time to focus on her family and plan for overseas travel. We wish her every happiness. Bell Times for 2020Bell times for 2020 will continue as we have done this year with a few changes:
RVS Foundation Name Change
Car ParkSchool UniformWe are just about to place our first order of school uniform items. If all goes according to plan, we will have uniform available for purchase during the week prior to school commencing in 2020. We will advise you dates and times when you can come into the school to try on sizes and purchase new uniform once our first shipment arrives. The blessing of working in a Christ-centred school is never lost on me. We are in the middle of a very exciting change, from Full Primary School of 90 students to a Full Area School of 350, comprising of 3 schools in one. While there is growth and change, physically and organisationally, the heart of the school and its devotion to quality Christian education remains steadfast. I thank you and congratulate you as a community for your patience, grace and excitement for the changes happening here at RVS. I encourage you to continue to love & forgive one another, to include and help one another, to meet someone new in the wonderful community that is RVS. God bless, Dave Pauling Principal Starting from tomorrow morning, you are welcome to use the new drop off zone to the right of the inward entrance. The yellow areas in the map below are drop off only zones on week days, no waiting. If you wish to park or wait, please use the standard white parking spaces.
The car park has fresh arrows painted and is now entirely one way. I am pleased that the new layout will make our carpark an even safer place to be. Please continue to drive slowly and model safe pedestrian carpark behaviour as you collect your children. This work is a continuation of the great work being done by our proprietors to provide quality spaces for our school as it grows. You are welcome to speak with me about the property or you can see the overall property concept here https://www.rvs.school.nz/change-of-class-progress Thank you for your patience and support as we pursue excellent Christian Education here in Marlborough. God bless, Dave Pauling Principal |
