A huge thank you to those who came along to the working bee on Saturday, it was a huge success. We now officially have an Edible Garden, a very cool planter box outside Rm 5, well pruned trees, cleaned buildings and playgrounds and a well trimmed forest.
Thank you to The RVS Foundation for their excellent organisation and again to those who gave up precious time to help. Hello Community
We are undertaking a Special Character Audit at the moment here at RVS. We are privileged to have Mark Larson, the CEO of The Association of Integrated Schools in NZ based at Middleton Grange in Christchurch as the chief auditor. He will also be undertaking training with the Board of Trustees & Proprietors. As a part of this audit, we would like to hear your thoughts on some Christian character aspects of RVS. Please click HERE to take part in the survey. The link will close on the 23rd of Nov. Thank you. Hello RVS Community,
It is with a great deal of mixed emotions I bring further news to you of staffing changes for next year. You may remember that I mentioned in an earlier post this term that RVS is an ever changing place. This means that people come and go for a variety of reasons and so it is with both sadness and our best regards that I have to announce we will be farewelling both Mrs Powell from Rm 3 as well as Miss Galloway from Rm 1. Mrs Powell has been granted one year’s discretionary leave from the Board of Trustees to enable her to journey to Auckland with her husband, who as many of you know, is in the New Zealand Air Force. He has been posted to Whenuapai. We know that she will be a tremendous blessing to her new school and we look forward to having the Powells back to Blenheim in the near future. After 10 years of teaching at RVS Miss G is making the move south. She will take up a teaching position at Hillview Christian School in Christchurch at the beginning of 2018. Julia, an ex-pupil of this school, returned after her teacher’s training and has made a wonderful contribution to many young lives within our community. Her passion for inquiry, literacy, maths, and character development have both enriched our curriculum and will leave with us a permanent positive legacy. We will miss both of these amazing young women, their heart for the students, and their dedication to the teaching profession, but we know that God has wonderful plans ahead for them. The RVS Board of Trustees and Staff join together in wishing them all the best for the future. Jane Fransen will remain in Rm 2 and Carol Wilson in Rm 5 next year. Francesca Crossley will be moving into Rm 3 from Rm 4 and we will inform you when we have made decisions regarding the other classes. The BOT already has a plan in place to fill vacant positions over the next few weeks. Please pray for the right people to partner with us as we continue to pursue excellence and opportunity from a Christian worldview. God bless, Dave Pauling Principal |
