Kia Ora RVS Community
I apologise for my lack of blogging this term. It has been a wild start with the Education Review Office visit, the new classroom setup, new syndicate organisation and the ongoing Change of Class, amongst other normal 'school busyness'. Great progress in all of these areas though. Easter Sunrise Service It was disappointing to have to call off the Easter Sunrise Service. I figured one would need to see the sun in order to make it a true sunrise service and Cyclone Cook was going to make things wet. None of this of course dampens the focus as a school and families on one of, if not THE most important event in world history, the first Easter. Swimming Week A huge THANK YOU to those who helped with our swimming week. As the school continues to grow and rules around car seats etc have changed, it has become harder to accommodate everyone in cars. Please take time to complete the survey on our News Page to help us decide on a way forward. Click Here 'Application for Change Of Class' Progress The Ministry of Education's consultation period with the educational community is over now with over 90% of Marlborough's schools supportive of the application. We are working with the Ministry to provide them with the information they need to make their decision. Our application was very comprehensive and laid an important foundation for moving forward. Early next term I will meet with The Ministry of Education in Nelson and hand over any further information they have requested. They (Nelson/Marlborough/West Coast Branch) will then write their recommendation to the Minister of Education. This recommendation will be sent to the Wellington Ministry of Education Main Office and a decision will be made. We have no timeframes for this part of the journey apart from knowing that we will hear before the end of this year. It is a long and thorough process that takes time and due-diligence. Please do continue to pray for the application, now more than ever. If you have questions regarding the application please feel free to talk to me. The application is still available to read in the RVS office. Building Work We are expecting some landscaping work to happen during the holidays to finish off the space in front of the new classroom. Also, every door and window along the front of Rooms 1, 2 and 3 are being replaced with new, double glazed doors and windows, just in time for winter. Thanks to our proprietors and the BOT for this excellent, ongoing work. Stay safe I pray you all have a fantastic, well deserved Easter break and that you rest in His peace. See you in Term 2, PRODUCTION TERM! God bless Dave Pauling Principal Comments are closed.
