Kia ora RVS Community, It is wonderful to see growth right across Richmond View School. A lot of the content in the attached notice is about the new Year 9 expansion, but we will also have the biggest number of new entrant students the school has ever seen next year. Therefore, we will have a separate Year 0/New Entrant class commencing mid-year to keep numbers in Room 1 down, in order to aide quality teaching and learning. Christian education is alive and well in Marlborough and our Lord is at work. “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Phil 2:13 Continuing our news for the term, we are now able to update you with further detail with regard to next year. VISION I have heard it said that it is important to retain order amid change and change amid order. The Vison and Values of Richmond View School remain at the core of this school and even during times of change, as we are seeing now, the heart must stay the same. We as a school community are navigating a time of significant, positive change. We have prayed for and believed for our college for many years and because of this will continue to put Christ at the centre of our journey, as highlighted by the statements from our Charter below. Vision ‘Educating for Eternity’ Mission Within the framework of a Christian Worldview, Richmond View School will provide an excellent education that equips each student for their future. Values Love for God Respect for self and others Respect for God’s creation I wish to thank those who are partnered with us on this journey. I recently spent three days visiting five Christian schools in Sydney, thanks to a Marlborough Principal’s Association study grant. I also visited Cornerstone Christian School in Palmerston North who over the last 5 years have moved through the process of Change of Class and had the opportunity to discuss their experience with them. We have also been supported by Christian Principals from schools around the South Island who came to visit our school recently and have offered both advice and practical support. All these supports ensure we are well informed regarding the road ahead into Year 9 next year. Please read the attached notice for information regarding 2019. God bless, Dave Pauling Principal
