Kia ora School Community It was such a pleasure seeing everyone back yesterday. I spent a lot of time in all of the different classes and will continue to do so for a while as we all settle in. We talked in assembly about two particular concepts, firstly the teaching from Jesus himself regarding sparrows. We looked at a close-up of a feather and discussed its intricate design and beauty. His care for a sparrow is an example of how His care for us is huge and we need not worry, a good reminder for the first day. Secondly, the concept of looking outside ourselves to the needs of others. I presented two pieces of advice, one from the internet and one from the Bible. The students could identify the scriptural truth straight away. Doing things God's way will make RVS a great place to be because His way is always best.. We were planning on having our School Picnic / Open Evening tomorrow, (Thursday) evening but have decided to postpone due to expected rain. We will now be having our School Picnic / Open Evening next Thursday, the 8th of February from 5:30 - 7pm. More information from the RVS Foundation regarding this will follow shortly. I would like to invite anyone, particularly new parents, to join me in the RVS staff room tomorrow at 2:15-3pm for a casual Q&A and information meeting. There is always so much to know when starting a new school and we want our community to have the opportunity to hear about how RVS works and have a chance to ask questions. I look forward to the rest of Week One and hope you enjoy your extended Waitangi Weekend. God bless, Dave Pauling - Principal Comments are closed.
