Last week RVS presented to the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Nelson our application for Change of Class. This application requests that RVS change from being a full primary school to being a school that educates all the way to Year 13, (the old 7th form). We look forward to working with the MOE next year turning 'possibility into reality'. I would expect to hear of the MOE's decision sometime in the latter half of 2017, 2019 being the earliest start date for the first Year 9's.
The application is a VERY thorough and well laid out document and explains our educational philosophy and planned direction well. It has several experienced, professional contributors and is the culmination of a year's work, as well as much experience and research. I encourage you to come have a look through the application. A copy is in the RVS office for you to look through. I also wish to specifically thank several people for their input: Kathy Taylor - For the huge amount of time and expertise she has put in. Dr Ann Milne - For the section she wrote and the support and feedback she gave. CSN Office - Thank you to Andy Van Ameyde & Marrianne Reinders of the Christchurch Christian Schools' Network (CSN) of which we are an associate member - For their experience and work. The RVS BOT - Who are 100% committed and wise in their resourcing of this project and vision. YOU! - For your vision and support. Over 90% of RVS parents returned their survey and all 100% were positive about the possibility of Christian High Schooling in Marlborough. Do continue to pray for the application process. It would be a great thing to see a faith-based High School available in Blenheim. A school that is cutting edge in its approach to teaching and learning, is honouring of the importance of deep relationship in learning and seeks to consolidate the Christian World-view begun in the home.
