Representatives from Garin College are visiting St Mary's on 9 March at 1.30pm, to speak to Year 7 & 8 students. If you have any students considering going to Garin, they would be most welcome to join us.
There is also a parent evening that night. 6-8pm in the St Mary's Parish Centre, Maxwell Road. http://www.garincollege.ac.nz/ OSCAR After School Care is available at all the Bread of Life OSCAR programmes, Springlands, Blenheim, St Mary’s, Redwoodtown and Woodbourne.
This is a very safe and caring environment for your children after school. Afternoon tea provided and lots of fun and games till 5.3Opm. Pick ups from most schools arranged. Attendance affects learning. This is not something new. It’s a fact. “Schools are legally required to ensure all students attend school every day, they must therefore have effective procedures in place to monitor and follow up on absences”. MOE Te Ora Hou Otautahi Inc. Schools are required to identify and record learner attendance, patterns of non-attendance, and the reasons for non-attendance.
Please ensure that if your child is going to be absent you contact the school office as soon as possible. This can be done via email, the school App or by telephoning the office. Should a pattern of absences emerge, it is the schools responsibility to follow up on this. At RVS we recognize that some pupils may have a legitimate reason for a pattern of absences and for those children a discussion with the parents/caregivers of that child should have already taken place. Families who wish to take children out of school for holiday reasons must first seek the approval from the School Principal. If you would like to discuss this issue further please feel free to speak with Mr. Pauling or Mrs. Crossley. These will be happening
Thursday evening, 18th February and Tuesday evening, 23rd February . More information regarding bookings to follow. |
