Support Crew meeting this Thursday at 7pm in the School Staffroom.
Come along if you would like to be involved in supporting RVS and our families. This will involve all of our Year 12 students for the full day as they attend a very powerful and useful day of training and learning about driving and the risks for young drivers in particular. This event is held at the Renwick Domain and Sports Pavilion and involves a range of speakers and instructors speaking with our students. This day has been very well received in the past few years and we look forward to another successful course this year.
We need to ask for a $10 donation from each student please to cover the cost of the bus to and from the venue on the day. This can be paid online into the RVS bank account or cash/Eftpos at the office. Thank you. This evening is an opportunity to hear from Mr Adamson about two important aspects of NCEA, how the new Level 1 NCEA works and how the Literacy and Numeracy requirements can be met. It is of most use to parents of students in Year 10 who will all sit the new Literacy and Numeracy common assessment tasks this year in May and September. It is also a good opportunity for parents of students in Year 11 who would like to know about the changes to Level 1 NCEA and how our Year 11 students will gain their qualifications this year.
Next week on Thursday 22nd February, Year 11,12 and 13 will be involved in parent/teacher/student conferences with their subject teachers. These meetings provide an opportunity to meet with the subject teachers for your son or daughter and to talk through what specific needs they might have in each subject. They are a great place to talk with teachers if your son or daughter is struggling in a particular subject or if they excel in that subject and are looking to be extended this year. If your son or daughter has particular learning needs that you would like to discuss with a subject teacher then this is an also a great opportunity.
To aid with this busy day, please note the following:
Students to be in correct RVS uniform. No jerseys or shell jackets are needed. Blazers are permitted for Seniors. All Year 11, 12, 13 students must have a tie.
