Some parents have been enquiring about homework. Homework is not an essential part of the intermediate curriculum (although may be set by myself for larger in school projects). This to accommodate for the commitment that many students at this age have towards extracurricular activities that take up the bulk of their evenings. Particularly those in reps sports terms, theatre groups, music lessons, church youth groups etc. These enrichment activities take priority over homework.
However, if your child would like to do extra work at home there are a number of options: If you are considering homework I would advise maths as a first priority, but feel free to come and discuss with me your child's priority learning needs. Maths Maths workbooks- If you prefer to work on paper rather than computer these workbooks are well linked to the year 8 curriculum. https://www.whitcoulls.co.nz/books/schools-study-support/year-8/start-right-year-8-mathematics-workbook-5709865 Also, Mathletics teacher tasks set, then quick maths level four or above. Eako- students can choose tasks from any strand of maths of there interest. Reading Alongside regular visits to the library encourage your child to choose books of a range of genres.
