It's been an exciting time to see the finishing touches taking place on our much loved Hobbit Room.
- During the last 2 weeks of Term 1, our Hobbit Room has been temporarily closed for the "wooden pillars" to be erected, plastered and painted. Come in and have a look at the finished product. We look forward to opening this room again as a learning breakout room for small groups to work or just for the love of relaxing and reading. A reminder that the second round of immunisations will take place this term on the 9th May 2016.
This will only apply to the students who's parents signed consent forms at the beginning of the year. Well done to the following students for learning their Term 1 scriptures.
- Rhylee - Ngaio - Nadia - Jayden - Jacob C - Hannah D - Joshua D - Riley - Lexy - Joshua P - Hannah R - Harry - John - Sharon Term 2 Scripture is due in by the end of week 9 Yr 7's passage is Psalm 23 (Psalm of David) Yr 8's passage is Mathew 7: 7-11 (Ask, Seek and Knock) I am so very proud of the young men and women in my class. We presented our assembly on Friday 8th April. Those parents who were able to attend, were treated to a presentation that was well thought out and had many hours of hard work behind the scenes in setting up, editing and practicing. We focused on some highlights of Term 1 and the children decided to report on the Yr8 Tramp and our contribution to the RVS 35 years anniversary. We also presented a new song to the school called "The Joy of the Lord is my Strength". The students were given some broad strokes and a basic structure to work to. They chose their own areas of interest and wrote their own scripts. They worked together to make a combined power-point presentation including a video of some of the photo's from the tramp. For those parents that could not attend our Room 5 assembly, I have included the video below. During Technology in Term 1, Room 5 children have been exposed to some wonderful opportunities to show their creative sides and technical talent.
It was so good seeing some of them share their crafts and completed tasks at the end of Term 1. Some others are very close to completing theirs. - A reminder that closed shoes must be worn to each Technology session, - The session dates and times can be found on the school calendar |
