Rooms 3 & 4 Class Page
Term 3, 2019 Welcome back to Term3! Term 2 was so amazing. As a school we took part in so many activities - ‘The Giant Slayer’ production, Chess Tournament, Touch Rugby, Music Academy, Gymnastics and the 40 Hour Famine to name but a few. We are very proud that children from Rooms 3 & 4 took part in all these activities. Well done! Thanks to the amazing Mrs Galloway who worked so hard in Room 3 allowing Mrs Crossley to step into Mr. Pauling’s role. This term for weeks 1 - 7 Mrs Van Der Vyver will be teaching in Room 3. Mr. Brown, Mrs.Crossley & Mrs. Van Der Vyer have been working together both before the holidays and during to ensure a seamless join in our children’s learning. Mrs. Crossley will be back with her ‘chickens’ from week 8. We hope that you enjoyed reading your child’s school report. In week 2 we have parent interviews which you’re welcome to attend. More news about these will be in the School Newsletter. So what is happening this term? Term 3 sees us starting with preparation for the RVS, and the Marlborough Cross Country races. All children will need their running shoes at school every day. Children will not need to change into full PE uniform however, PE kit is best kept in school bags Mon - Fri, as we have no set PE day and we might go outside from time to time. This term we will be taking part in the Fundamental Skills programme at the Stadium in Week 10. Our overarching topic is ‘God is Generous and wants us to be grateful and generous’. Our Term Scripture is at the end of this page and will also be sent home on Day 1 of the term. All children are expected to recite their scripture by the end of week 7. In Devotions we will be looking particularly at the following books from the Bible - Samuel, Joel, Luke 10-24, Acts and Philippians In Science we are looking at Fins and Feathers - as we appreciate the design features of animals, environments and ourselves, we can respond with wonderment and awe and exhibit the quality of gratitude. In Social Science we will be investigating ‘Precious Places and Resources of our Nation’. In Literacy we will be exploring the features of Poetry and creating our own poems. In Maths we will be looking at Fractions, Time and Number as well as Patterns and Relationships. As always, we thank you for your support. We will continue to build on our own learning so that we can support and guide your child with their learning. May God bless you. Francesca Crossley, Logan Brown & Malanie Van Der Vyver. Year 3 Memory Verse ~ Term 3 ~ Don’t worry “Don’t worry and ask yourselves, ‘Will we have anything to eat? Will we have anything to drink? Will we have any clothes to wear’? Only people who don’t know God are always worrying about such things. Your Father in heaven knows that you need all of these. But more than anything else, put God’s work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well. Don’t worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. You have enough to worry about today. Matthew 6:31-34 Year 4 Memory Verse ~ Term 3 ~ Two builders‘Anyone who hears and obeys these teachings of mine is like a wise person who built a house on solid rock. Rain poured down, rivers flooded and winds beat against that house. But it didn’t fall, because it was built on solid rock. Anyone who hears my teachings and doesn’t obey them is like a foolish person who built a house on sand. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded, and the winds blew and beat against that house. Finally it fell with a crash! Matthew 7:24-27 Year 5 Memory Verse Term 3 Don’t store up treasures on earth! Moths and rust can destroy them, and thieves can break in and steal them. Instead store up your treasures in heaven where moths and rust can’t destroy them, and thieves can’t break in and steal them. Your heart will always be where your treasure is. Your eyes are like a window for your body. When they are good you have all the light you need. But when your eyes are bad everything is dark. If the light inside you is dark, you really are in the dark. You can’t be the slave of two masters! You will like one more than the other or be more loyal to one than the other. You can’t serve both God and money. Matthew 6 v 19-24 Comments are closed.
