P.E. P.E. Days Wednesday & Thursdays (Term 1 only) We change at school this year for P.E. We wear full P.E. uniform - gym shoes/sneakers required. Homework There will be reading homework Monday - Thursday.
Please sign your child’s reading log - it helps us to celebrate his/her success! Mathletics - this should be used for 15 - 20 minutes three to four times per week. During these last 2 weeks of the term, there are many rehearsals for the production that the children are involved in. Currently, some children are having to attend rehearsals during our reading rotation. If this is the case & your child does not bring a journal or book home to read, please encourage them to pick a story from home or a passage from the bible. However, the reading groups who are currently reading a chapter book can read 1 chapter each night.
Thanks, Jess Just a quick reminder to let you know that PE is back to Wednesday now that hockey has finished.
Also, children do not have spelling words to practice this week so there will be no spelling test on Friday. Just a reminder for those who are unsure. There are 3 things that will come home each night:
- a reading book (read half each night) - reading log (please sign after reading) - spelling notebook (this has the term scripture in it too). Please make sure reading is completed each evening & spelling words are practiced throughout the week. Let me know if you have any questions! Welcome back everyone! I hope you had a super summer holiday!! Here are some notes about this coming term!
You will notice Room 3 is looking very different! We have new carpet & the walls & roof have been painted - make sure you pop in to have a look if you haven't already! In Room 3 this term we will be trying a new seating arrangement called 'flexible seating.' There are a range of different seating types around the classroom that the children can use while they are working. These include; big group working tables, large balls to replace their chairs with, cushions to work on the floor, soft mats for children to lie on the floor & kneeling tables for the children to kneel at. There are also individual working spaces for children to work on their own if they prefer. The aim of flexible seating is to increase engagement and excitement and for the children to start to identify where/how they work best. If you want to know more, come and see me! Thank you to those who have already signed up to class dojo! This means you will be able to keep up to date with the points given out in class. If you have any questions about Class Dojo, send me an email or pop in and see me. I am looking forward to a great term this term! Next week (week 10) children will not be given homework to complete (reading/spelling). Please encourage your child to read a book from home each evening.
Thanks, Mrs Powell Hi Everyone,
