Rooms 3 & 4 Dear Parents/Whanau, Welcome back! We are excited to start another year of growth - spiritually, academically and emotionally. We welcome 10 new students into Rooms 3 & 4 and thank God for bringing them to us. This term our theme is - God is at work and wants us to be diligent. In Maths we will be looking at number strategies and number knowledge. Our Literacy focus will be Narrative writing and developing specific skills in punctuation and grammar. Science sees us investigating Machines. Social Science will have us looking into People in the Past. We will be visiting Brayshaw Park to further investigate this topic. This terms P.E. focus is swimming and this will take place in week 9. There will be opportunities to develop our cricket and hockey skills also. Cricket will take place on Week 2, Monday 10th February and Hockey will take place on Week 3 - Tuesday 18th February - Friday 21st February. Apart from these times, there will be no weekly P. E., as students will be taking part in a daily exercise program and we have visiting sports tutors throughout the term. This term will also see us revisiting the NZ Education programme ‘Keeping Ourselves Safe’. This is delivered in partnership with Community Police. Mrs. Van der Vyver will distribute more information about this later in the term. By continuing to read on, you will find this term’s Scripture Verses for Years 3, 4 and 5. These are to be learnt and recited in their entirety by the end of week 8. This is not an optional part of our learning BUT an integral part of our spiritual growth in Christ and our school curriculum. We thank you for support. Please feel free to email or call should you need to chat with us. Francesca Crossley & Logan Brown. Year 3 Memory Verse ~ Term 1 ~ The Lord’s Prayer ‘ This is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as also have forgiven our debtors.
