Today PC Josh Reidie, came to our class to talk to our children about Keeping Ourselves Safe. We are very blessed that Josh comes to our school. He is a local Police Officer and as a Christian, he shares this very important message to our children within a Christian context. Josh will be coming in again tomorrow to continue with his talk. We had a great time. Please talk with your child about what Josh taught them.
Thank you Josh! Welcome back!
Well what a year 2020 has been so for our world! It's been challenging for us all, but as Christians we must never lose hope. God is walking before us and even carrying us through these times when we need Him too. Mr. Brown and I are so glad to have all our 'chickens' back home to roost in Rooms 3 & 4! We thank you for your support during the Lockdown and we want you to know that we appreciated all your help and your kind comments. We LOVED seeing the children's work and receiving their messages online. This term we are looking forward to our school Cross-Country, our 'Run for Bibles' and the '40 Hr Famine' challenges. Our Term 2 Scripture verses were posted on Seesaw for the children to learn, and again we thank you for your help with this - so many children have recited their verses to us and we look forward to more children having a go. We have given out some paper copies of our Scripture verses to those children who needed a new copy. there can be nothing more important than learning God's own words. Remember we are always here if you need us. Please feel free to contact us either via email or through the school office. May God bless you. Francesca Crossley & Logan Brown. On Wednesday this week we will be returning to Brayshaw park for our second visit which supports our in-class learning about 'People and Places Long Ago'. This weeks visit we will be looking at games children played long ago. This will be a very hands on visit so we are really excited.
Next week – Week 6, Room 3 will be trialing out a new class initiative.
This is called SNACK ATTACK! Before school your child may deposit up to 2 snacks from their lunchbox into their own SNACK ATTACK pocket which is in our class. The snacks chosen must be either a fruit/vegetable, a wrapped muesli bar or a wrapped/sealed dried food – small plastic containers are ok to use. Your child has been given an individual Snack Attack pocket. To help make this successful please add an extra snack – Healthy – to your child’s lunchbox. FRUIT/VEGETABLES would be a GREAT addition. The children will be able to eat these snacks DURING class time in the morning when not directly being taught by an adult. WHY? – For many children hunger fatigue takes away from their learning and can cause a loss of concentration. I have trialed such an initiative before, and found that this has been helpful to keep many children focused and aid their learning. We have been able to trial this initiative due to the goodwill shown by Mrs. Imeke Moore, one of our Room 3 parents, who came to my rescue and designed and made our SNACK ATTACK class holder. I have attached a photo for you to see. Thank you Imeke! I’ll keep you all posted as to the successes and challenges of this initiative. Once again, Thank you for your support. Francesca There can be nothing more important than learning God's Word. The Bible is very clear on that...
Deuteronomy 11:18-21 The Message (MSG) 18-21 Place these words on your hearts. Get them deep inside you. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder. Teach them to your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning until you fall into bed at night. Inscribe them on the doorposts and gates of your cities so that you’ll live a long time, and your children with you, on the soil that God promised to give your ancestors for as long as there is a sky over the Earth. I encourage you to spend time with your son/daughter to help them learn and say this term's Scripture verse. This should be completed and recited to the class teacher BEFORE the end of week 8. Your child's Scripture verse can be found on the inside of their Spelling notebook or on our class page. If you are having difficulty with this please come and see me. Many thanks, Francesca Crossley This week - Week 3 - we have Hockey Development on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The children should come to school wearing their PE uniform and can stay in that ALL day.
Have a great week! Francesca |
