ROOM ONE

Keeping Ourselves Safe Day 2

25/10/2017

Picture
It says in God's Word that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. God made us in His image and we are precious. Our bodies are our own and we need to take care of them. Today we looked at the correct words to use when talking about our bodies. This included the correct words for our private parts. We talk to people we trust if we need to talk about our bodies. Today we also talked about touch- see below.

TOUCH
Teacher directed –

Today in KOS we are learning about different types of touch – touch we like, touch that hurts and we want to stop, and confusing touch that we want to stop.

Ask for examples of touch we like, such as hugs – though some children DON’T like hugs.

Ask for example soft touch that hurts and we want to stop.

Reinforce adults in playground and saying ‘STOP! I don’t like that!’.

Present the following situations…

Ask children how these situations would make them feel and what they should do about it:

  1. An adult that you don’t know comes up and takes your hand.
  2. Someone at school pulls your hair.
  3. The babysitter sits very close to you and puts their arms around you.
  4. Someone hugs you too tight and gives you a sloppy kiss.
