Today in Keeping Ourselves Safe we learnt about people we trust, why we have rules and good surprises and bad secrets sometimes people use tricks or bribes to get a child to go with them, or do what they say.
Please help your child with the following activities Give one of the situations below to your child. Get them to role-play telling you about this. Repeat with the other situations.
It says in God's Word that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. God made us in His image and we are precious. Our bodies are our own and we need to take care of them. Today we looked at the correct words to use when talking about our bodies. This included the correct words for our private parts. We talk to people we trust if we need to talk about our bodies. Today we also talked about touch- see below.
TOUCH Teacher directed – Today in KOS we are learning about different types of touch – touch we like, touch that hurts and we want to stop, and confusing touch that we want to stop. Ask for examples of touch we like, such as hugs – though some children DON’T like hugs. Ask for example soft touch that hurts and we want to stop. Reinforce adults in playground and saying ‘STOP! I don’t like that!’. Present the following situations… Ask children how these situations would make them feel and what they should do about it:
Keeping Ourselves Safe
Today we started our 'Keeping Ourselves Safe' programme. Mrs Powell kicked off our first session with lots of fun learning. It was great to work with other classes and share our ideas. Mrs Powell talked about how we are special and God made us all unique. We are all good at different things, this is how God designed us. Room One are good at lots of different things. What things are you good at? We also talked about feelings and what to do if we get lost? We know that we find someone that we trust that can help us. There is some information that can be helpful in these situations.
Talk with your child about what they learnt in todays session. |
