Lost Property. There is some lost property from camp. It will be in Room 5 until the end of Week 8.5/12/2017
Monday 11th December is the day that the Year 6 students will visit the Marlborough Technology Centre for their orientation day. They will depart from school by bus and return to school later in the day. Long hair must be tied back and all students are required to wear closed in shoes. For next year the Technology centre also require student information on each student. Therefore each Year 6 will be bringing home a form this week. Please can you complete and return to Room 5 as soon as possible and by the end of term at the latest. Thank you. Welcome back to the final (and shortest) term of the year. Our topics this term will be on Heat, Important People In History, Where Is God When I am Scared and Keeping Ourselves Safe. In addition, as camp is in Week 7, there will be lots of learning activities in preparation for this exciting event.
Another activity on the calendar is Rural Schools' Athletics, which will be on Friday 10th November. This is a compulsory event for our students and so our P.E. lessons will be focused on preparing for it. P.E day will continue to be on a Wednesday, and we will have extra practices on Thursday too, until Athletics Day. Therefore students will need P.E. uniform on Wednesday and Thursday. I am looking forward to a busy and exciting term. Carol Wilson This week students have a new homework activity, which is to prepare a 2 minute speech about something they are interested in. They will present it to Room 5 one morning next week, so they should be prepared from Tuesday onwards. If students wish to make a Slides presentation or use photographs to support their speech they may do so. Please help by listening to them practice at home. This will be the last homework for the term. Thank you for the support you have given with homework.
There is some fantastic research and investigation being carried out by students for their science fair projects. Just a reminder that all students should have carried out the majority of their experiments by the end of the term. This means they will have time and opportunity to complete further testing if necessary, or for writing up their results, over the holidays. Our mini school science fair will be in week 5 of Term 3 (21st August). Carrying out an investigation and participating in Science fair is compulsory for all Room 5 and 6 students, as it is part of our science curriculum this year. I have attached the original letter for your information, but if you have any further questions please come and see me or email me. Thank you for your support at home. |
