Where has the time gone?
It's almost the end of Term 4 and time for some of my young men to move onwards and upwards. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents and caregivers for all your support throughout this year. The boys have taught me much! I have LOVED every minute of their journey and it has brought a spring back into an old teacher's step! Some notes for you...
Take care and God bless. May the peace and joy of Christ be with you and your family this season. Francesca Crossley Depute Principal Well done to those boys who completed their Term 4 Scripture. For these boys we will be having a mufti, pizza and video day on Wed 14th December. On this day these boys won't need too much to eat, as food and lollies will be provided. These boys can come to school in mufti, bring a board game and have a relaxing time!
Well done! Thank you for supporting your child wit their Term 4 Scripture. Year 4 Memory Verse
Wise proverbs ‘My child, remember my instructions and obey them completely. They will help you live a long and prosperous life. Let love and loyalty always show like a necklace, and write them in your mind.’ Proverbs 3:1-3 ‘With all your heart you must trust the Lord and not your own judgement. Always let Him lead you, and He will clear the road for you to follow.’ Proverbs 3:5-6 ‘My child, don’t turn away or become bitter when the Lord corrects you. The Lord corrects everyone He loves, just as parents correct their favourite child.’ Proverbs 3:11-12 ‘My child, use common sense and sound judgement! Always keep them in mind. They will help you to live a long and beautiful life. You will walk safely and never stumble; you will rest without a worry and sleep soundly. Proverbs 3:21-24 Year 5 Memory Verse When Jesus saw the crowds he went up on the side of mountain and sat down. Jesus’ disciplines gathered around him and he taught them: God blesses those people who depend only on him. They belong to the kingdom of heaven. God blesses those people who grieve. They will find comfort! God blesses those people who are humble. The earth will belong to them. God blesses those people who want to obey him more than to eat or drink. They will be given what they want. God blesses those people who are merciful. They will be treated with mercy. God blesses those people whose hearts are pure. They will see him. God blesses those people who make peace. They will be called his children. God blesses those people who are treated badly for doing right. They belong to the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5 v 1 – 10. Term 4 has arrived!
I trust that you all had a fabulous rest and the opportunity to have some quality family time during the school holidays? I say this every term - This term is going to be very busy! Our theme this term is God is one God! We will be looking at Living Communities - mini-beasts and bugs - YUK!, Teamwork and Cooperation, Persuasive Writing and Explanations, Athletics, Coding, People and Businesses in Our Community and in ART - Buildings. PHEW!!! We will also be preparing our item for the School Prize-giving AND preparing for the season of Christmas - Our Lord's birth. All the boys were able to recite their Term 3 Scripture and on the last day of the term we shared another fantastic privilege day - eating pizza and lollies and watching Star Wars. I will be posting Term 4 scripture very shortly and as per usual it is expected that ALL children are able to recite this scripture by heart by the end of week 7. There can be NOTHING more important than having our Lord's words etched onto our hearts and minds. I thank you for your help with this. Keep an eye to the school website and our APP as these give the latest news items. All returns regarding the RVS school expansion to year 13 should be returned by the end of week 1 term 4. These go to the office. Please pray for us as we embark on this journey. Thank you for all you do to help support Room 3A and our school community. God bless! Francesca Congratulations to all the boys in Room 3A!
All boys have completed their Term 3 Scripture and some have even learnt additional weekly scriptures. Our privilege day will be Friday 23rd September - the last day of this term. On this day the boys may come to school in mufti clothes. I've not decided exactly what we will be doing this day but mufti is for starts! Keep an eye on our class page for more details. Francesca Crossley In Week 7, Room 3 A are presenting their assembly.
We are currently in the throws of making a movie masterpiece! The boys were given the framework for a movie which depicts some of the skills we have been learning about in class this term. They were given a Story Board as an outline and then given the tasks to write the script, create the props, cast the movie, prepare the costumes and direct and produce the movie! Over the last few days our class has been a hive of activity. It's been amazing to watch the boys work, talk, share knowledge and experiences. There is a real 'Buzz' about the class. We hope to start filming the movie on Monday of week 7 ready for screening at our assembly at the next of that week. Some of the boys need to bring a few items from home as costumes and a few odds and ends to help build their props. Please can I ask that you help them with these? This is just one of the many items the boys will be preparing for assembly. They will be performing a RAP, a musical item and presenting the assembly and creating the powerpoint for the assembly! Mrs Crossley meanwhile is loving the 'Buzz', watching with excitement and encouraging madly! Keep watching this page as I have been videoing the boys at work and will post the video once edited. Great work men! God bless Francesca Crossley On Friday Diana and Julie, from the Marlborough Falcon Trust came with Fern, the Falcon, for an absolutely fabulous visit! Room 3A and 4 joined together for this amazing experience. Julie taught us about the Falcon and its living and hunting habits. Diana came with Fern perched on her special glove and we watched in awe at how magnificent Fern was. After a brief discussion, Diana chose 10 students to hand feed Fern. Wow! Everyone learnt a great deal that day about Falcons and endangered NZ birds. We hope to visit the Falcon Sanctuary later this year. This will allow us to get up really close and personal to Fern as she is set free to swoop and soar across the Marlborough skies! Thank you Diana and Julia. Yesterday we were lucky enough to spend some time with Room 2. The boys in Room 3 A spent some time with the younger children teaching them some fitness skills. A lot of fun was had! This Friday we have the Marlborough Tennis coaches coming to teach skills to Year 3 - 8 children.
All the boys will need their P.E. kits for Friday. Many thanks Francesca |
