Instigated by the Marlborough District Council's Youth Council in 2013, the Youth Civic Awards are to acknowledge young people who have given voluntary service to others within Marlborough.
The Youth Civic Awards are held biannually to acknowledge young people who have undertaken voluntary service that is beneficial to other residents in the Marlborough district. https://www.marlborough.govt.nz/our-community/grants-and-awards/youth-civic-awards Want to learn new skills, get outdoors, and have fun? The skills you learn in athletics are the perfect foundation for almost any sport.
Every student can give athletics a go. Our local Blenheim athletics club is welcoming new members now and we encourage students to get involved and get active. Contact details for all athletics clubs nationwide are available here athletics.org.nz/FindaClub and become a member. We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Awards Ceremony featuring guest speaker Aaron Davis. Aaron is an ex Marlburian who will share his insights and experiences from his recent cycling challenge - Race Across America. Join us for an evening of inspiration and support as we come together to contribute towards the important work of the Inspire Foundation Marlborough.
To see a sneak peek of Aaron’s journey click here. A few words from Aaron - “If competing in the world's toughest bicycle race taught me anything, it was the importance of being present and living everyday with gratitude….I'm presenting at the Inspire Foundation Marlborough Grantee Awards Evening about the highs, the lows and the learnings I had from this once in a lifetime experience. Will I do it again? Absolutely not. Will I let what it taught me about myself influence my entire future? Absolutely.” We will also recognise and reward our latest successful grant recipients and be treated to performances by MGC Choir Ovation and Grantee Logan Reedy on Trombone. Tickets are only $30 which includes a drink on arrival and nibbles. Tickets can be purchased from Harcourts Marlborough (1 Scott Street) up until Monday 23rd October. Date: Thursday 2nd November Time: 5:30pm to 8:00pm Venue: The ASB Theatre |
