Term 2, 2019

Back into it for term two.

We trust you have all had a great break over the holidays and everyone is recharged and ready for another great term. Term one finished well with swimming week in week ten, and a celebration of Easter in week eleven. It was great to see so many parents come through our classes to view students work for Easter.
Term two is already looking like a busy term with organisation and practise for our school production getting underway in week five. This will be a great experience for a lot of our younger and new students in the school, as well as an opportunity to build confidence in front of an audience, regardless of experience. We are really looking forward to it in Rooms Three and Four!
Our PE day in our classes is changing to a Tuesday. Gymnastics is our focus for the first part of the term. Please ensure PE kit is bought for Tuesday afternoons.

The scripture memory verses for this term are as follows:
Year 3 -
‘You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.’ Matthew 5:14 and 16.

Year 4 -
‘Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.’
‘Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Matthew 7: 7-11.

Year 5 -
‘Don’t condemn others, and God won’t condemn you. God will be as hard on you as you are on others. He will treat you exactly as you treat them.
You can see the speck in your friend’s eye, but you don’t notice the log in your own eye. How can you say “My friend, let me take the speck out of your eye,” when you don’t see the log in your own eye? You’re nothing but show offs! First take the log out of your own eye. Then you can see how to take the speck out of your friend’s eye.’ Matthew 7: 1-5.

There is nothing more important to learn than God’s word. This term we are looking at why people choose to obey God. For us to obey God we must know his word and have it in our hearts.
