Middle school update Dear Parents/Caregivers, We are over halfway through the term already, time is flying. A big Thank you to all who turned out for the school interviews. We hope you found them as valuable as we did. If you were unable to make it we are happy for you to pop in and see us or make an appointment with your child's classroom teacher. Year 6/7/8 Camp at Teapot Valley was a valuable time for our students. They were challenged in a safe, fun and positive environment and participated in a wide variety of outdoor education activities. Thank you to our Room 5 and 6 teachers Mrs Johnson and Mrs Wilson and our wonderful team of Parent helpers - Mr Cameron, Mrs Foote, Mrs Watson, Mr Kim, Mr Doreen and Mr Van der Westhuizen. Without your help we would be unable to offer such amazing experiences for our students. We welcome back Mr Pauling next week after his time away on sabbatical and look forward to the continuation of the development of buildings and programmes for RVS. If you have any questions or concerns within the middle school (room 5, 6 and year 9) please do not hesitate to contact me. Blessings Leah Pigou Assistant Principal/Head of Middle School We are so excited about this years camp! A quick reminder that students need to arrive at school by 8.40 tomorrow as the bus will be loaded and leave at 9am sharp. Please ensure your child has a packed morning tea and lunch for the journey. We aim to arrive back at school before 3pm on Friday after an amazing camp. Please remember us in your prayers this week.
Blessings, Kiri These are the important reminders for camp in case you have misplaced the letters. This is the link to the website for Teapot Valley Camp. In Room 6 this term we have been learning about Human brain and what they do. The Occipital Lobe is what makes sense of what you are seeing, it has to be very fast to process the rapid fire information that our eyes are sending. If our Occipital Lobe was damaged the we wouldn’t be able to process the information that our eyes are seeing. There are many parts of the brain and if they are damaged than well lets just say they most likely won’t work any more.
