Hello everyone! It is great to welcome Mrs Crossley back to Rm 3 and 4 as she returns from her time as Acting Principal. We would like to thank Mrs van der Vyver for her hard work in our classes last term, it was great to have you join us!
So what's happening in Term 4? Remember it's summer term so all children need a school hat and sandals. Children can bring a roll on sun block to school if you wish. This can be applied by your child during lunch and playtimes. Please explain to your child how to use this. Our overall theme is God is Faithful. We will be looking at what it means to be faithful and how God our Father has shown his faithfulness to us and how some of the characters in the Bible showed their faithfulness to Him. Our Social Science and Science topic this Term will be around the upcoming Tuia 250 celebrations here in New Zealand. We will be investigating what it must have been like on board HMS Endeavour and the travels Captain James Cook took around New Zealand and the Pacific. We will also be looking at how the early explorers used the stars to navigate their routes. PE - Please note that children will NOT require their PE kit until Week 4. PE will be on a Wednesday afternoon. Rooms 3 & 4 will be working together on our piece for the end of year prizegiving. ALL CHILDREN are to attend the end of year prizegiving. End of year reports will be issued in the last week of this term. Our Term 4 scriptures are: Matthew 5:1-10 for Year 5 When Jesus saw the crowds he went up on the side of mountain and sat down. Jesus’ disciplines gathered around him and he taught them: God blesses those people who depend only on him. They belong to the kingdom of heaven. God blesses those people who grieve. They will find comfort! God blesses those people who are humble. The earth will belong to them. God blesses those people who want to obey him more than to eat or drink. They will be given what they want. God blesses those people who are merciful. They will be treated with mercy. God blesses those people whose hearts are pure. They will see him. God blesses those people who make peace. They will be called his children. God blesses those people who are treated badly for doing right. They belong to the kingdom of heaven. Wise Proverbs for Year 4 ‘My child, remember my instructions and obey them completely. They will help you live a long and prosperous life. Let love and loyalty always show like a necklace, and write them in your mind.’ Proverbs 3:1-3 ‘With all your heart you must trust the Lord and not your own judgement. Always let Him lead you, and He will clear the road for you to follow.’ Proverbs 3:5-6 ‘My child, don’t turn away or become bitter when the Lord corrects you. The Lord corrects everyone He loves, just as parents correct their favourite child.’ Proverbs 3:11-12 ‘My child, use common sense and sound judgement! Always keep them in mind. They will help you to live a long and beautiful life. You will walk safely and never stumble; you will rest without a worry and sleep soundly. Proverbs 3:21-24 Once again Francesca and I thank you for your continued support. God bless. Logan Brown and Francesca Crossley. Comments are closed.
